Write 5 Paragraph Essay

Write 5 Paragraph Essay

Week 5 Final Assignment
The final assignment is your chance to reflect on what you’ve learned in this course. As with the Week 2 assignment, you’re given the prompt for each paragraph. In preparation for writing your essay, review the resources and tips below.
Paragraph 1
Paragraph prompt – Your identity as a learner has a major impact on how you engage in learning. How can awareness of your Learning Patterns, skills, and experiences help you be successful in your degree program and beyond?
This paragraph is asking you to think back to earlier in the class, especially Weeks 2, 3, and 5 when you first explored your Learning Patterns. If you haven’t done so yet, take some time to review your instructor’s feedback in the gradebook as well as questions and comments posed in the discussion forums. Also consider skills you possess, certifications you may hold, and experiences that you’ve had that contribute to who you are. How can all of these things add to your success?
Paragraph 2
Paragraph prompt – Soft skills are not only present in a career setting as discussed in Chapter 5 and the Instructor Guidance, but are also utilized in personal interactions. By developing your soft skills, you are working toward becoming a more intentional learner. Based on your future goals, prioritize the five soft skills in the order you think will be most critical to your future success and describe why.
According to the 2016 National Association of College and Employers Report, the top five attributes – known as soft skills – employers seek in their new hires include: leadership, collaborative teamwork, effective communication, problem solving/critical thinking, and having a strong work ethic. Here are definitions for each of these skills:
Leadership – Defining and communicating a vision and ideas that inspire others to follow with commitment and dedication. Leveraging the strengths of others to achieve common goals. Using interpersonal skills to coach and develop others. Leaders are not always the boss, and can emerge from within a team.
Collaborative Teamwork – Being able to build trust and find common ground with others – even those with different skill sets, personalities, work styles, or motivation level – to achieve better results. Creating collaborative relationships with colleagues and customers and being able to work with diverse teams, negotiate, and manage conflicts.
Effective Communication – Being able to actively listen to others and articulate your ideas in writing and verbally to any audience in a way where you are heard and you achieve the goals you intended with that communication.
Problem Solving/Critical Thinking – The ability to use knowledge, facts, and data to effectively solve problems. Being able to think on your feet, assess problems, and find solutions and having the ability to develop a well thought out solution within a reasonable time frame.
Strong Work Ethic – The willingness to be a self-starter and getting the job done. Demonstrating personal accountability and effective work habits, such as being punctual, practicing professionalism, and managing time with workload.
Soft skills are also covered in Chapter 5.3 in the textbook. The definitions above and the information in the textbook will assist you in developing paragraph 2 of your essay.
Paragraph 3
Paragraph prompt – Review the six developmental stages of critical thinking from the Paul & Elder article. Where do you most often fall in the process? How could further developing your thinking enrich one of your many roles (i.e., parent, employee, friend, spouse, etc.)? Using the self-assessment in Chapter 4.2, choose one behavior and explain how it can help you further develop your critical thinking. Finally, describe how critical thinking can contribute to academic integrity.
This is the Paul & Elder article referenced in the prompt for Paragraph 3: Critical Thinking in Everyday Life: 9 Strategies (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. where you will find the six developmental stages of critical thinking. But don’t just skip to the list. Reading the article will help give you additional context. You’ll notice that there aren’t comprehensive explanations for each stage. This means that you will need to take the time to carefully evaluate your process when it comes to engaging in critical thinking. Completing the self-assessment in Chapter 4.2 will help you determine which developmental stage best fits your current practices. As you complete the self-assessment, be thinking about which behavior you can begin to implement to improve as a critical thinker.
To address the last requirement of this paragraph, review section 4.7 in your text about academic integrity. Tip: Consider how critical thinking can help you act ethically.
Paragraph 4
Paragraph prompt – Metacognition refers to your internal talk or, as Vygotsky described it, “learning to direct one’s own mental processes with the aid of words.” Throughout this course, you have engaged in a metacognitive forum that challenged you to think about how you processed the learning from the previous week. Describe how you approached the metacognitive forums. How did your approach change from week to week? How was value added to your learning process by participating in the metacognitive forums? Explain how continuing to complete these reflective sentence starters can enrich your learning.
As you consider your participation in the Metacognitive Forums, think specifically about how your approach may have changed from before you learned about what metacognition is to after. Review your weekly contributions for evidence that supports your response.
Paragraph 5
Paragraph prompt – Reflect on the past five weeks. What were your expectations when you began this course? Were they met? Why or why not. If you could change one thing about this course, what would it be? Considering the course content, online learning platform, and interactions with your peers and instructor, what advice would you give to someone who is just starting this course to maximize their learning experience.
Effective communication includes respectfully sharing your thoughts and opinions. You are encouraged to provide both positive comments and constructive criticism in your reflection. The post Write 5 Paragraph Essay first appeared on https://essaysresearch.org.Write 5 Paragraph Essay was first posted on January 28, 2021 at 5:01 pm.©2019 "Submit Your Assignment".
