Week 7 Discussion
A team is a small group of people with complimentary skills who are committed to a common purpose, performance goals, and approach for which they hold themselves mutually accountable. Team dynamics has to occur to achieve organizational goals.
In order to create team dynamics, you spent your entire budget for the year on creating open workspaces so employees can collaborate freely on projects regardless if they are assigned directly to the team. You noticed Jim is constantly wearing his headphones while at work and not interacting with the group nor are any members reaching out to him to be a part of their collaborating projects. You come in to work today and the individual offices are being occupied by individual members working alone with the door closed.

As a manager what are the specific steps you will take to convey to your team collaboration is important? How will you get people back to working in the open workspaces?

I would go to Jim and ask is he okay? Do you have a problem with the task given or working with others?. I would then go to the group and the person that seems to be the leader I would ask if there has been any issues with Jim I need to address. Once all problems are addressed my next move would be to get all the employees to open the doors and work together as a team to keep the work flowing
